圣诞节快到了! 过圣诞节前,你们家会怎样佈置客厅?你们家每年都会买圣诞树吗? 你会寄圣诞卡给远方的亲朋好吗? 你会买什么圣诞礼物送给家人朋友呢? 还有, 你们家一般圣诞晚餐吃什么?

回答下面的问题, 然后写下你家(或一般人)怎么过圣诞节?

The structure 如果.......(的話)

我们今天学了  "如果.......(的話),....就 (or 会)......." 这个句型

 Your Homework today : make  3-5 sentences with "如果...."  - feel free to be very creative in your answers!  Have Fun!

比如: 如果我今天有五百块, 我就去买一件漂亮的裙子.

Reall, really complicated and difficult stuff 结果补语

This isn't easy but let's have a go! Take a look at the table below. The words along the top line can take a modifier (in the left-hand column) to make a finished or completed sense to the word.

 For example, "see" is modified with "見" to become "saw". "Search" is modified with "到" to become 'found". By the way "光" can have the same meaning with "完"

Construct four modified words and create a sentence for each that illustrates their use.

See the examples below as a guide.

周末日记 ---我最喜欢的季节

我们在课堂上学了春,夏,秋,冬四个季节的天气特色,还学会了怎样描写天气.这个周末的日记,请选一个你最喜欢的季节,描写一下这个季节的天气有什么特色?很热,很冷吗?常常下雨?会刮大风下大雪吗?一般温度几度?你为什么特别喜欢这个季节?还有在这个季节你常常做什么活动? 

你可以写在日记本上,也可以写在博客上.     周末快乐!

范例(fàn​lì   example)

一年有春夏秋冬,其中我最喜欢秋天.秋天的时候,天气不冷也不热,很少刮风下雨,一般温度在摄氏十五度左右,不用穿很多衣服,晚上睡觉也不用开空调(kōng​tiáo  AC)很舒服!(shū​fu)
秋天的时候,我可以做很多戶外hù​wài(outdoor)活动(activity),可以去爬山,去郊游 jiāo​yóu (field trip) 看枫叶fēng​yè(maple leaves), 还有跟朋友去公园打球.很好玩!所以秋天是我最喜欢的季节.

The Four Seasons 一年有四个季节

We've been talking about the four seasons in the year. Choose a city and introduce the weather during the four seasons and the activities you might expect to do in each season. For example, in the Summer, you might go swimming or visit the beach.

The picture above talks about the Spring, so what activity might you do in this sort of weather? Write a short description for each season. Make sure you check the typical weather during the year for the city you select.

Three day weather forecast 天气预报

We studied the weather today and learned how to describe the temperature (high temp, low temp) and what the weather is doing (cloudy, sunny, snowing etc).

Take a look at the picture below, select a city then write three days of weather forecast. 

Follow the format as shown in the article. Please have this ready for Thursday morning.

The next topic we will cover is 'Birthdays'. Since we all celebrate birthdays then try and remember what the best gift was that you ever received for your birthday. Why was it so special, do you still have it and have you bought something similar for someone else?

First thing... wonderful menus and shopping lists! I enjoy reading it.
首先shǒu​xiān,你们的感恩节购物单和菜单,棒极了!( bàng​jí​le Excellent)

OK, we have studied the mid-autumn festival中秋节 (remember the story of the Moon Lady Chang-e嫦娥 and moon cakes, right?) and we have just finished studying Thanksgiving with the story about the Indians.
So, today's homework is to compare the two holiday festivals and write down what you think is similar and different between the two. For example:

中秋节是农历 (nóng​lì)八月十五日, 感恩节是十一月的第四个星期四,时间不一样

中秋节的故事是嫦娥Cháng​’é 飞到月亮,变成(biàn​chéng)月姑娘 (gū​niang)

感恩节是英国人来到美国,印地安人帮住他们种玉米马铃薯,让英国人的生活变好

还有过中秋节的时候,中国人吃月饼,过感恩节的时候,美国人吃火鸡.

It's Turkey time - so let's get shopping! 感恩节购物单

We've leaned the characters we need for Thanksgiving, so now let's first put together a shopping list for our Thanksgiving dinner.


The characters are shown in the turkeys feathers, so write them correctly in the shopping list.


Add any things that you would like to eat to the list.
You can check the food items on  chapter 11.


Create a dinner menu which shows the first course, main course and desert.


Please have this ready for our lesson on Tuesday.

I'm really, really, really busy at school these days ..... 我忙死了

This is what we covered today in Class about the grammar structure for 

expressing an extreme situation. Usually, Chinese people don't like to 

use word associated with "death" but in these cases they do. 

今天在课堂上,我们学习了"形容词+死了" 这个语法.一般来说,( In general) 
中国人不喜欢用跟"死"有关的词 ,但是在这个句型 " 形容词+  死了"例外. 

这个句型,也可以 用"  动词+  死了"  For example:

昨天我帮邻居看小孩, 一个三岁, 一个五岁. 他们太调皮搗蛋, 我真是 烦死了!

What is the difference between this International Student's life and your own life?

We have been studying the unit for "School life" for the past two weeks. We covered every day activities and school subjects such as History, English, Math and so on. We also learned how to describe the activity in our daily lives.


Read the article about an international student in China and write down three things that are either the same or different from your daily activities. Use the grammar points as follows:
